Carla D. Armstrong is quickly becoming known as a master life coach, public speaker, consultant and author. Carla 
came to this point in her life drawing on her experience as a ministry leader who many years ago realized that she had a gift that she wanted to bring to others in need of advice and life coaching.
Drawing on her own life experience, Carla is expert at teaching others how to bring order and structure to their lives and build a life in preparation so that they are able to meet any of life’s challenges. This ability comes naturally to Carla. As a preacher’s daughter Carla learned very early in life that spiritual discipline could help her focus her life and develop the skills she would need to step in when called upon. Today as a leader of a non-profit and a ministry leader she channels that preacher’s daughter to help others get their lives on track.
Over the years, Carla has spent over 5,000 hours mentoring and coaching teens and women, many times in her spare time and in her role as ministry leaders. After many years of this, Armstrong was drawn to offer her services in a more structures way so in 2012, Carla developed a business model that allows her to coach her clients on a 1-on-1 basis. Through this new business model Carla is able to offer her mentoring sessions in a more intimate setting so that she can give these women and teens the personalized attention they need in order to comprehend and master the advice given and use it to build success in life and business. She has in fact been so successful under this new business model that she has been able to add men and couples to her business.

In addition to 1-on-1 coaching sessions Carla also conducts workshops and trainingsessions and has been a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator for women, youth groups, non-profits and governmental agencies throughout the country. Her expertise lies in developing training programs for HR professionals, college students and single mothers. Carla takes special pride in helping college students make the transition to their new collegiate lives. Her "First Generation" college student workshops at Notre Dame of Maryland University were developed to help students adjust and transition to a new learning environment while coping with family adversity. She has also provided workshops for RA's helping them embrace the importance of self-care while working in college environment.
In 2007, Carla founded Women Making a Difference, a program designed to provide assistance to single mothers and pregnant teens. Working with MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership, she was able to design a program to fit the needs of her clients. Again Carla was able to draw on her life experience to develop a program based on her experience as a teen mother and her personal firsthand knowledge of the challenges of being a single mom. Carla strongly believes that providing young mothers with personal development and parenting skills will help them develop a strong family foundation. Carla has a special affinity for working with young people and spent two years working in the Baltimore City school system under the Meet Me Halfway program where she offered workshops and mentoring services. As a mentor coordinator for the Focus program she taught twenty character education classes to tweens and teens.
Carla’s work has also garnered the attention of many in the world of media and she has been a recurring "featured" guest/co-host on the "Real Life Decoded" blog talk radio show. Her powerful message of living free from "emotional boundaries" has been heard by more than 4,000 listeners. In November 2012, Carla became a permanent member of the Real Life Decoded blogtalk family, and launched her show, Designing Your Life with Carla. Soon after, in March 2013 she decided to launch her own station with the same name; Designing Your Life with Carla. Her ultimate goal is to host a weekly show that will allow listeners can tune in and receive information on real life issues that men, women and youth face on a daily basis. Carla's passion for serving others has been the gateway to her living her own personal dream. She has a deep believe in the power of volunteering and has served with Americorp. Carla is a member of National Association of Colored Women and National Association of Professional Women and she serves in ministry at Fortified City church in Severn, MD. In her spare time Carla finds joy in being a wife, mother and grandmother. She also enjoys traveling aborad, reading and pursuing her love of fashion.
